Mark Sugar's Blog | Did You Know Your Tires Have an Expiration Date?

You may not be aware that your tires have an expiration date. Yes, an expiration date!

Most drivers simply wait until their treads on their tires are worn or they have a blowout while others switch tires depending on the season. But did you know that tires made since the year 2000 have expiration dates printed on them?

Have a peek at the sidewall of your tires and you will be able to read a four-digit code stamped on your tires. Again, this is on all tires sold since the year 2000.

The first two digits will be between 1-52, which is the week they were created and the second two digits note the year of the manufacturer.

So, if you are looking to find out more about the health of your tires then be sure to check their expiration date!
